Supports JPG / PNG / WebP / GIF / BMP, multiple files allowed
Files already under target stay untouched unless converting; when the target is unreachable, the closest result is used.
Transparent areas are filled white when converting to JPG; WebP is recommended for the smallest files.
FAQ
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression and format conversion run entirely in your browser; image data never touches any server.
What if the target size cannot be reached?
The tool automatically lowers encoding quality and shrinks dimensions step by step. If the target is still out of reach at the encoding floor, it outputs the closest possible result marked as "best effort" and shows the actual size.
Why is PNG hard to compress to a small size?
PNG is lossless and browsers offer no quality knob for it, so only downscaling reduces its size. For much smaller files, switch the output format to WebP or JPG.
Where did transparency go after converting to JPG?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are filled with white. Keep PNG or WebP if you need transparency.
Are animated GIFs supported?
You can import them, but canvas encoding keeps only the first frame — the output is a static image.
